OffGridScout editorial
Useful decisions, with evidence you can check.
OffGridScout is a Gravitis digital publishing project. Our editorial team prepares and maintains introductory guides about power, water, shelter, food, connection and everyday upkeep.
What our byline means
“OffGridScout editorial” identifies the publication responsible for a guide. It does not claim that an engineer, installer or named independent tester has reviewed it. We use AI-assisted research and drafting, then check cited sources and calculations. We do not invent field tests or professional credentials.
How equipment earns a place
We start with the reader’s circumstances, identify an exact model and marketplace variant, and compare manufacturer documentation with the linked listing. Recommendations explain who the item may suit, where it does not fit, compatibility questions and separately required parts. Product price alone does not determine what we recommend.
Our articles distinguish documented specifications, illustrative calculations and unanswered questions. A stated review date records a performed check; it is not a promise that a listing, model or local rule will stay unchanged.
Keeping recommendations current
Product records are shared between guides. A corrected link or withdrawn recommendation can therefore be updated across the site. When evidence is missing, we leave the choice unresolved rather than substitute a guessed model. Ordinary product links and commission-bearing links are labelled differently; actual paid links carry a disclosure.
Corrections
A useful correction identifies the guide, the statement to check and a primary source or exact model revision. We review that evidence, correct confirmed errors and withdraw a recommendation if its suitability cannot be supported.
