Clarity before certainty

How we put guides together.

OffGridScout publishes introductory planning guidance. Our aim is to help you ask useful questions, understand connections and identify what needs further checking.

Evidence you can follow

Technical claims should be supported by relevant primary sources, such as a manufacturer’s documentation or public agency guidance. Each guide lists the sources it uses. A review date records when its source material was checked; it is not a guarantee that a specification or local rule remains unchanged.

Context matters

We identify jurisdiction-specific guidance where relevant. A US agency reference, for example, does not establish the rules for your location. We avoid giving universal installation instructions, site-specific engineering advice or promises about performance.

What our images mean

The photographic images are AI-generated editorial imagery. They help communicate the feel of a project, but do not document a real property, field test or code-compliant installation. Equipment shown in an image is not a recommendation.

Editorial tools and responsibility

We use AI-assisted research, drafting and design tools. Source links and editorial review remain necessary. We do not invent first-hand tests, reader testimonials or professional credentials.

Commercial transparency

Where a guide includes a commission-bearing product link, we label it near the recommendation and explain the commercial relationship. Equipment recommendations describe suitability, limitations and compatibility, with supporting sources and a review date. Recommendations may change as products change. Commercial arrangements are not evidence of independent testing.
